| 6. FINAL BALANCE DUE | The final balance is payable 60 days prior to departure. If you are making a booking within 60 days of departure, full payment is required to secure the booking. |

INSURANCE
Please note that it is a condition of booking that all travellers be covered by adequate travel insurance (which should include medical, personal accident and repatriation in the event of illness, baggage, money and liability cover as well as loss of monies paid in the event of cancellation). We cannot offer to arrange this for you ourselves, but recommend that you take out insurance as soon as your booking has been confirmed, and inform us of the details. You should check that your insurance covers you for walking and any additional sports or pastimes you may be planning to do. PASSPORTS, VISAS & HEALTH FORMALITIES
If you are a British citizen, you will not need a visa for any of the countries we visit. We recommend that citizens of other countries check with the relevant embassy whether a visa may be required. Full valid passports are needed for travel to all the countries that we visit. Wherever you are travelling, we always recommend that you check official up-to-date travel advice at least 2 months prior to travel. To do this, you can contact the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Travel Advice desk on 0845 850 2829 or visit their website on www.fco.gov.uk. Alternatively, for health advice you can contact your GP or a Travel Clinic.
PAYMENTS
Payments must be made in Pounds Sterling. We accept most major credit/debit Cards (not Diner’s Card); cheques should be made out to Upland Escapes Ltd. You may also pay by bank transfer (bank details will be sent on request). If paying by credit/debit card, the card must be registered at the address of the “lead name” on the booking, to which all correspondence will be sent. If you require more than one invoice, you will need to complete one booking form per invoice required
HIRE CARS
Full details on hire cars can be found by clicking here. If you would like to upgrade your hire car or request additional vehicles, please ask us at time of booking and we will be delighted to provide you with a price. If you have extra requirements such as child seats, please mention this on your booking form. Your hire car voucher will be sent with your final documents. Please check the details carefully. We will book your hire car for the duration of your holiday, as per the flight details you provide on the booking form, unless you tell us differently. Collection will be at the arrival airport and return will be at the departure airport, no later than 2 hours prior to your scheduled take-off time.
NEUTRALISING CARBON EMISSIONS
We will ensure that trees are planted in managed woodlands to offset the carbon emissions from your hire car(s) free of charge. If you would like us to offset the carbon emissions from your flight or train journey, please tick the relevant box on the booking form. This will cost no more than £10 per person return and we will calculate the exact cost for you and process the donation on your behalf. You will receive a certificate confirming your donation. PRIVACY STATEMENT
So that we may process your booking, we need to collect certain personal details from you. These will usually include the names and addresses of party members, payment details and any relevant medical condition or dietary requirement. We need to pass on your details to a few relevant suppliers (e.g. your hotel, car hire supplier, credit/debit card company or bank). Apart from these exceptions, we will keep confidential all personal details you give us, in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We do not sell or pass on for marketing purposes any information you give to us.
GROUP & FAMILY DISCOUNT
For all parties of 6 paying passengers or more, we will give one of your party a completely free Upland Escapes holiday. This discount can be applied to a single traveller or the value of the discount can be spread between various or all members of the party, as desired. The offer applies to all bookings of 6 paying passengers or more on independent holidays only and does not apply for bookings on scheduled group departures. The value of the discount will be calculated using the lowest individual price for a party member, excluding infants, but not excluding children (2-11 years at time of travel). Children less than 2 years old at time of travel, travel for free and are therefore not considered to be paying passengers. Any special offers, valid at the time of travel, will not apply in conjunction with the Group & Family Discount.
SERIAL ESCAPER’S SCHEME (SES)
To recognize the fantastic client loyalty shown by all of you who are returning to Upland Escapes again and again, we have introduced a points scheme which will enable you to enjoy a free holiday once a number of points is reached. If you buy a holiday with Upland Escapes, you automatically accrue Serial Escaper’s Scheme points (“SES Points”) at a rate of 1 SES Point for every night purchased. For instance, a couple who have purchased a 10 night Upland Escape will accrue 10 SES Points each. Every 10 SES points accrued are worth 1 night’s free holiday for 1 person, and SES Points can be redeemed on any Upland Escapes holiday once 70 or more points have been accrued.
