The 2-star Auberge de L’Isard - the isard is the Pyrenean chamois - straddles the rushing river Bouigane; a covered bridge links the restaurant and terrace with the main building. Daniel and Florence, who both grew up in the valley, took over what was a very run-down business ten years ago. Since then they have restored the Auberge by stages, and now have 7 very comfortable and well-appointed rooms - all en-suite, with televisions and telephones – furnished and decorated to a standard that has earned them two Logis de France ‘Cheminées’. Their little café-bar is the hub of the village community - locals drop in for morning coffee, evening aperitif and at all times in between; late afternoon sees the regular card-game getting under way. In the restaurant they preside over a varied menu of local dishes – it is hard to beat eating trout on the terrace as the river flows by on a warm evening.
