FLIGHTS
All our destinations can be reached by low-cost airlines from a wide range of regional airports in the UK, and there are some tremendous bargains to be snapped up. We can provide you with information about which airlines fly to each Upland Escapes destination, and can hold your booking provisionally for up to 3 days to allow you time to arrange your flights, either directly with the airline or through your travel agent. TRAINS
There are many reasons why some people prefer not to fly if offered an alternative. If the idea of traveling on some of Europe’s excellent trains to reach your Upland Escape appeals to you, we are happy to provide you with information on how this can be achieved and book tickets for you. Although this option is impractical for Gran Canaria, the Majella and the Julian Alps can be reached in about 24 hours in the comfort of a private sleeper-cabin, and with the chance to dine in Paris, and breakfast in Milan, Bologna or Venice. The Mercantour and the Couserans can easily be reached in a day or there is also the option of taking an overnight train, arriving in Nice or Toulouse in time for coffee and croissants. We are also happy to arrange for you to offset your train carbon emissions if you wish.
There are many train options available to you, so we have selected one or two recommended options – the most comfortable and civilised times and routings in our opinion. There are opportunities to dine or breakfast in Paris, Milan or Venice, and there are left luggage offices at all stations except Paris Bercy.

AIRPORT PARKING, HOTELS AND TRAVEL INSURANCE
If your flight departs from the UK very early in the morning you may wish to arrange to stay the night before in an airport hotel. You may also wish to park your car at the airport (booking a hotel often gets a great deal on parking) or purchase travel insurance for you and your party. Upland Escapes does not sell these services but has used Holiday Extras in the past and they have proved to be very reliable and competitively priced. If you are interested in any of these services, please do click the links below. If you would prefer to book your holiday insurance by speaking directly to a Holiday Extras Travel Insurance expert, please call 0870 844 2742, quoting reference WV424.
